ANGLERS in the Redlands will have two more artificial reefs to drop a line off by the middle of next year. After more than two years of debate, the State Government announced at the weekend that an artificial reef would to be built west of Peel Island and another to the east of Coochiemudlo Island. The two proposed reefs were part of a March 2009 $2 million Bligh government election commitment, which promised to build six artificial reefs in Moreton Bay. Making the announcement, Climate Change and Sustainability Minister Kate Jones said the Peel Island reef would cover about 50ha and the Coochie site would be about 15ha.
